The teleconference consists on technological use that allows the direct exchange of information, especially video and voice, among several people and distance machines through a telecommunication system.
The teleconference and the Teleconferencing Types
Basically, five different teleconferencing services can be recognized:
Traditional basic multi-conference
It allows to establish a telephone conversation between two or more users geographically distant from each other.
The information supported is the voice and the network support of this service is the basic telephone network, using the phone as a terminal.
A unique telephone number is accessed to multi-conference unity, which manages the information exchange among users.
Traditional basic audio-conference
It is a service which allows communication through voice of two geographically distant people, in addition to facsimile or static images, although it has the limitation of not being able to broadcast it with voice at the same time.
This communication is done in real time and in both directions (bidirectional) using the basic telephone network and the used terminal in an integrated room.
The main objective is the communication between two groups, so it is established the communication between these two audio-conferences rooms.
Traditional basic audio graphic teleconference.
It presents improvements regarding the audio-conference. It allows voice communication with high quality and other facilities at the same time.
The network that supports this type of service is the digital network of integrated services (DNIS), using some specific terminals: audio-graphic teleconference terminals.
An audio-graphic teleconference terminal (ATT) is necessary for this service. ATT is basically a room with an audio equipment, equipment for message exchange, equipment for image exchange, fax, etc.
The used network for audio-graphic teleconference is the DNIS.
It is the service which allows the simultaneous bidirectional communication (in real time).
Person to person or group to group. The difference that not only voice is broadcasted.
It is also possible the video transmission and still images, data, texts and group graphics.
Do you know ZOOM the ideal app for video conferencing?
It is a bidirectional audiovisual service.
Which allows person to person communication through voice and images in real time.
The difference with the videoconference is the terminal.
In video telephony the used terminal is the video telephone.
Which basically consists on a screen, camera, keyboard, microphone and speaker.
The necessary network is also DNIS.
All those different methods to connect several people for conversation and conferences (of simple text, still image and audio with or without video)
For the realization of high quality tele/video conferences over IP, it is advisable to use facilities made by professionals using appropriate equipment specially designed for these features.
